Everything, in the order we do it
- We check your spot from your photos, then again on site: flat ground, truck access within about 100 ft, and clear space around it
- Delivery of the kit and assembly on site by your contractor
- A solid base: sheds on a compacted gravel pad 1 ft bigger than the shed (or a concrete or paver upgrade); wood pergolas on concrete piers; the louvered pergola on your patio slab; the arbor staked into the ground
- Sheds: architectural-style shingles and two coats of exterior paint in your color, with white trim
- Wood pergolas: a clear sealer, put on by your contractor before assembly
- Anchoring to the maker’s spec for wind
- Cleanup, packaging hauled away, and a walkthrough with you
Not in our scope
- Permits and HOA approval: please check your local rules before the build
- Electrical, including wiring a pergola’s built-in outlets
- Hauling away dug-out soil when there’s no room to spread it
- Sloped sites (we’ll suggest a Design & Layout Visit)
Common questions
Do I need a permit or HOA approval?
It depends on your city and on the size and placement of the structure. Permits and HOA approval are yours to arrange; we’re happy to share the specs you’ll need.
Can it go on my patio or deck?
Sheds sit on their own base. The louvered pergola anchors to a sound concrete slab at least 4 in thick. A wood pergola can often go on a sound patio slab instead of piers, and decks need a check first: send photos and we’ll price it.
What if my yard isn’t level, or a truck can’t get close?
We need a flat spot and truck access within about 100 ft. For a slope or a tight yard, book a Design & Layout Visit and we’ll send a written price.
What colors and finishes are there?
Sheds come in Charcoal, Sage Green, Barn Red or Sandstone, all with white trim. Wood pergolas are factory-stained brown and we add a clear sealer. The louvered pergola is black steel, and the arbor is golden brown.
What warranties come with them?
Shed siding: 50-year limited (LP SmartSide). Wood and louvered pergolas: 5-year limited from Backyard Discovery. The arbor: 1-year from VITA.
How long does it take?
A shed takes about 3 days for an 8×10 and up to about 5 days for a 12×16. Pergolas and the arbor are quicker; we confirm the schedule when you book.
